Kirwee Players started back in April 1977, when a group of like-minded thespians got together and decided putting on a show would be a good thing to do over the winter when the farm was quiet and the nights long. The rest, as they say, is history!
Founding members David and Isabell Stott are actively involved in Kirwee Players today, with another current committee member, Mabel Knight connecting in 1978. Joining them today, the Committee is full of passionate theatre lovers with various talents and experiences who are dedicated to sharing this with the community and putting on thoroughly entertaining shows!
With 55 seasons under our belt, this family-friendly group has led to many people having their acting debuts on stage at Kirwee, as well as many Players going on to greater theatrical heights, here in NZ or abroad!
To continue the tradition of accessible quality theatre, and contribute to its future sustainability for our community.
